THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES

JULY 1 - 12

Wood River Rep launches its inaugural season with The Marvelous Wonderettes, the jukebox musical packed with the hits from the 50’s and 60’s that defined a generation. It's 1958 at Springfield High's senior prom, and Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy have been tapped to headline the evening after the boys' glee club got suspended. In matching crinoline and hair bows, the four friends sing their way through their crushes, rivalries, and secrets as they spill out between songs.

Ten years later, they're back for the reunion, and life has had its way with all of them. It's a feel-good tribute to the songs, the friendships, and the people who grew up singing them.

POPCORN FALLS

APRIL 21-May2

The sleepy town of Popcorn Falls is on the brink of bankruptcy, about to be turned into a sewage treatment plant. And only one desperate idea to try and save it all.

With two actors playing more than twenty roles, Popcorn Falls is a love letter to small towns, unlikely heroes, and the stubborn, ridiculous, miraculous power of art to save the world. James Hindman's Popcorn Falls is one of the most joyful farces of the modern stage. A wild comedy to close out Wood River Rep’s inaugural first season.
